About Coach Amy
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

I have been an athlete my entire life - from playing neighborhood football to captaining my AAU basketball team the Lady Gators, starting on the varsity soccer team and softball teams as a sophomore in high school. I was the kid consistently praised for my grit and hustle, receiving the teams' 110% awards and testing just how hard an athlete can work. Throughout each and every sport, I was always a strong runner but I never liked running for running's sake -I needed a game. The irony of my becoming a distance runner as an adult is not lost on me.
Every skill I cultivated as a multi-sport athlete, growing up in a trailer park in Foxboro (go Pats!), becoming the first in my family to attend college (Boston University!) thanks to academic scholarships and loans, working in Boston as a legislative aide - all of it helped build me into the person who can run and train for hours at a time, week after week, year after year. When I got asked to become a coach, I jumped in with both feet because serving people has always been at my core. To be able to share what I have learned and uplift others- absolutely, let's go! Run Your Way Coaching is the next chapter- coaching those who want to discover what they are capable of and in an accessible way.
I have been volunteering in so many capacities since I was old enough to do so and that has never changed. Today I am grateful to be a Girls on the Run Coach and site liaison, the founder of and coach of our elementary school free all-comers run club, a girls' flag football coach, the PTA president at our elementary school, and the founder and coach of a free all-comers kids' summer run club. Coaching is my favorite way to live.
My running accolades: multiple time Boston Marathoner and qualifier, Chicago, London, New York, top AG finisher at Richmond, Wineglass, but it didn't start this fast. My first marathon was a 4:45 in Disney. My fastest was 3:07:11 at Wineglass. In between all that, I left an abusive marriage, got divorced, got remarried, got diagnosed with Celiac Disease, had a baby, left the traditional working world, moved to my second favorite town ever, got diagnosed with LADA (a type of diabetes). I have won races and I have DNF'd races and everything in between.
I currently live in Apex, NC with my husband, daughter, dog, and father-in-law.
Having a running coach shouldn't be a luxury item.
I have worked with 100s of runners with 100s of goals. Runners looking to break barriers like Boston qualifying or PRing to runners who don't want to race but want structured training that allows them to run safely and injury-free. Runners who want to cross 100 mile finish lines to runners who want to run their first 5K to runners who want to become law enforcement agents or military officers and need to pass a fitness test before they can be accepted or considered. I work with runners of all ages and abilities and find so much joy in helping them discover just how much they are capable of.
If you have a goal, let's talk!
